The young couple Magdalena and Frank move into their first apartment together. While Magdalena works as a doctor at the hospital, Frank tries to make progress with his doctoral thesis. The expiration of his scholarship and the prospect of having to earn money in the near future put him under additional pressure. When Magdalena comes home from work one evening, Frank points out the storage room at the end of the long hallway, which, to their surprise, is more spacious than they had remembered. With the door closed, time passes differently there. The outside world slows down almost to a standstill. The room offers the opportunity to let fractions of a second become hours and is thus a seemingly unlimited reservoir of time.
