We’ve been experimenting again—this time with AI-generated avatars for use in e-learning programs. In short, this opens up some fascinating creative possibilities, especially for training courses that use a storytelling approach.

  • Video im E-Learning? Längst Standard. Egal ob als Erklärfilm oder Video-Avatar. Doch die gestalterischen Möglichkeiten sind bisher oft durch Budgets und Umsetzung begrenzt. Jetzt fallen diese Grenzen: KI bringt ein wenig (!) Hollywood ins Lernen.
  • Der Stand der Dinge Wie sieht das Storytelling mit Avataren bislang aus? Meist recht simpel: Illustrierte Figuren oder fotorealistische Tutor:innen bewegen sich ein wenig und sprechen ihren Text. Mal besser, mal schlechter, mal lippen-synchron, mal nicht. Mehr war meistens nicht drin. Der Quantensprung Mit KI können wir jetzt größer denken. Bild- und Storywelten schaffen, die bislang in E-Learnings nicht machbar waren. Und das in einer Qualität, die zwar für Hollywood (noch) nicht ganz ausreicht, dem visuellen Storytelling in E-Learnings aber völlig neue Perspektiven eröffnet.
  • The Current State of Affairs What has storytelling with avatars looked like so far? Mostly quite simple: illustrated characters or photorealistic instructors move a little and deliver the text with lip-syncing that varies in quality. Often, not much more was possible, primarly due to budget constraints. The Quantum Leap With AI, we can now think bigger—creating visual and narrative worlds that were previously unaffordable in e-learning. And we can do so at a level of quality that, while not quite Hollywood yet, opens up entirely new possibilities for visual storytelling.
  • KI-Videos im E-Learning können unterhalten und überraschen. Vor allem aber geben sie uns mehr kreative Freiheit. Die „Zu teuer, nicht machbar“-Schere im Kopf wird obsolet.
